A few days ago I sat drinking cocktails with a good friend, in celebration of our respective 40th birthdays. As we asked ourselves where the last decade had gone and what had happened in the intervening 10 years I realised that although I could remember a lot of the highs and a few more of the lows what I couldn't recall was the fine detail, the small nuances of life. So here I am an intently private person, feeling the need to recall the small details of my existence in a public forum!
